Yellow crop leaves: prepare a useful field observation
Identify the crop, pattern and recent field changes before choosing an input.
Describe the pattern
Record crop and variety, growth stage, when yellowing began and whether older or newer leaves are affected. Note whether the issue is scattered, along field edges or spread across the field. Take clear photographs of the whole plant and affected leaves.
Add field history
List recent irrigation, rainfall, fertilizers, other crop inputs and any soil or water reports. A leaf colour alone does not establish a nutrient deficiency, pest problem or disease. Ask an agronomist what further inspection or testing is appropriate.
